moreThermal Bypass Inspection/ HERS Rating
The thermal Bypass Inspection is required for Energy Star certification and is helpful to builders to comply with the current energy code. The HERS rating is useful for stand alone baseline for structure performance. In addition, if you will be attempting to get accreditation thru LEED or Energy Star program, your structure will require a HERS Index/rating. The score is established by RESNET.

Carbon monoxide (CO) is a deadly, colorless, odorless, poisonous gas. We can test and monitor for this deadly gas and find solutions to removing it permanently. Radon is an odorless, tasteless and invisible gas produced by the decay of naturally occurring uranium in soil and water. Radon is extremely abundant in the mid-west. We can also test and monitor for this cancer causing phenomenon and offer solutions for radon mitigation systems.

Thermal imaging is a very effective tool in identifying issues in the building envelope such as water leaks and damage as well as thermal deficiencies in the envelope that are not noticeable by visual inspection alone. This technology is beneficial in electrical inspection of switch gear and equipment for inefficiencies and safety issues. This service can be offered as stand alone or with energy audit and efficiency assessments.

Energy Consultants Group has partnered with a certified Commissioning Authority and LEED AP services to provide full project management and commissioning services in Iowa. This service reduces project capital cost, reduces life-cycle cost and identifies issues with building before they become a larger issue with untold cost.
moreAir Infiltration / HVAC Testing
Energy Consultants Group can also provide blower door testing, a method in which the structure is pressurized or de-pressurized to determine how much outside air is entering or conditioned inside air is escaping. This test along with thermal imaging is typically the best means of finding structure deficiencies and proposing solutions to correct them. In addition, we can test your HVAC system for optimal performance and share the HeatMaxx and CoolMaxx results with you so you can make informed decisions.
